Organic cosmetics: is happiness in the jar?

Have you seen the report and what did you think of it?

For those of you who haven't seen it, a quick summary is in order...

It has been shown that although organic cosmetics represent only 3% of the cosmetics market, an increase of 35 to 40% has been observed each year for more than 4 years.

These figures can be explained by consumers' awareness of the danger that chemical substances present in conventional cosmetics such as 'paraben' can pose, and by the emergence of an eco-attitude.

The report also highlighted the lack of harmonization* between the different labels that grant organic accreditation and also explained that the organic designation was not a magic bullet and that consumers should remain vigilant, particularly regarding the proportion of organic ingredients found in the composition of cosmetics. Some organizations require a minimum of 10%, but some brands go further.

Conclusion: Consumers must remain vigilant, particularly by reading labels** but one thing is certain, female consumers who have acquired a taste for it do not go back and advocate organic cosmetics as part of a new way of living and consuming. Indeed, organic cosmetics do not and do not promise miracles (or else beware) but they guarantee an almost complete absence of the most toxic chemical substances identified by the competent authorities in this field.

Moreover, with the progress of laboratories, their use and performance have nothing to envy to the biggest brands, and the thought that it's good for the planet, or at least that it doesn't harm it; that feels good, doesn't it?

(*the European Union has asked these different labels to work on harmonizing their accreditation criteria)

**(the ingredients present appear in descending order according to their proportion of the total components; the earlier it appears in the list, the more of it your cosmetic contains)
