While we love winter for its beautiful scenery, snuggling up by the fire, and even for its soft snowflakes… this season also brings its share of problems for our skin! Our skin can be more vulnerable to the onslaught of cold and dryness. Whether you have dry, oily, combination or sensitive skin, taking care of your epidermis during this season requires precautions tailored to your skin type. Here are a few tips on how to keep your skin soft and face the challenges of winter.
Universal Hydration :
If you don’t know your skin type, this article should help!
- Dry skin: Opt for thick creams rich in moisturising agents such as hyaluronic acid and natural oils. Apply generously after showering to lock in moisture.
- Sensitive skin: Opt for gentle creams, without fragrance or harsh ingredients. Look for soothing ingredients such as aloe vera or chamomile.

For both skin types, you can use Coconut Cloud to wash your face. For make-up removal, use a few drops of oil synergy. And don’t forget Papouille oil, which will bring out your skin’s radiance. It’s also anti-wrinkle and anti-oxidant.
- Oily skin: Choose light, non-comedogenic moisturisers to avoid overloading the skin with sebum. Moisturising gels can be an excellent option.
- Combination skin: Use a light moisturiser for oily areas and a richer formula for dry areas. The key is to balance moisture without clogging pores.

For these oily skin types, you can opt for our Guava Granita.
And for all skin types, our whipped cream is ideal!
Use it on dry areas (elbows, feet, hands), but also on your hair. You can use it as a mask (before or after shampooing) but also as a styling butter for your protective hairstyles and to seal in moisture. It’s also perfect for face and body care. Our whipped cream is suitable for the whole family, even pregnant and breast-feeding women, as it contains no fragrance or essential oils.

Moderate exfoliation :
Remove dead skin cells with a gentle exfoliation once or twice a week. This promotes cell renewal, but don’t overdo it, especially if you have sensitive skin. Always avoid excess.
Avoid excessive hot showers:
Hot showers can strip the skin of its natural oils. Opt for lukewarm showers and use gentle cleansers to preserve the skin barrier.
And yes, we know it’s harder in winter, but we assure you that your skin will thank you!

Protection against the elements :
Wear appropriate clothing to protect yourself from the icy wind. Don’t forget a hat and scarf to protect your face, and gloves to protect your hands.
Hydratation from the inside :
Make sure you stay hydrated by drinking enough water throughout the day. Hot drinks like tea can also help to keep you hydrated – ideal when it’s cold!

Targeted care :
Dry skin: Add moisturising serums rich in essential fatty acids to your routine to strengthen the skin barrier.
Oily skin: Opt for light serums containing salicylic acid or niacinamide to control excess sebum.
Combination skin: Use products adapted to each area of your face. Clay masks can be beneficial for oily areas.
Sensitive skin: Choose alcohol- and fragrance-free products to avoid irritation. Ceramide-based creams can help strengthen the skin barrier.
Even in winter, don’t neglect sun protection, especially if you live in snowy areas where the sun’s rays can be reflected.
By adopting these tips, which are adapted to each skin type, you can get through the winter by keeping your skin healthy and soft. A skincare routine tailored to your skin type will help protect it from the rigours of the cold season.
